Our Story

missio dei:gso began in the fall of 2012 with a group of people who wanted to be part of a gospel-centered community that worked for the benefit of those around them.  We believe that church is not a building or an event that you attend once or twice a week, but it is a people who follow Jesus and desire to be more like Him and this desire affects all aspects of our lives.  We want to blur the lines between church and life, because the gospel affects every part of who we are and how we treat those around us.  Simply, we want to be a people who are “of the gospel, for the city.”

This means that the gospel (and the gospel community) affects all of the rhythms of our lives.  The church isn’t just for people who have everything together, but for real people living real lives.  This means we celebrate together and struggle together – we encourage each other and stretch each other to become more like Jesus.  There are times for the church to gather together to celebrate and pour into each other and times for the church to scatter to affect their communities.

We would love for you come along beside us as we figure out how the story of God affects our lives and also the city in which we live.  We invite you to be a part of one of our Missional Community Groups or serve alongside us at a CityConnect Event.  If you have any questions about who we are or what we are doing, please contact us at missiodei.gso@gmail.com
